Workshop IRP CNRS MLNS2
June 24–26, 2025, at ENSIMAG
Collaboration goals
The collaboration between Cameroun and the partners in Grenoble aims to establish a long-term scientific and technological partnership focused on IoT, distributed systems, artificial intelligence (AI) and Security.
The primary goals of this initiative include strengthening research capacity through joint projects. It also seeks to promote knowledge transfer and skills development by supervising students (master's and PhD), organizing workshops and seminars, and sharing educational resources.
In addition, the collaboration is committed to developing solutions tailored to local contexts, addressing real-world challenges in fields like healthcare, smart agriculture, and energy optimization. Another important aspect is the enhancement of software infrastructure, ensuring broader access to high-performance computing tools for researchers in the Global South.

Summary
The workshop brought together researchers and professionals—including startup founders and representatives from government ministries—from both Cameroon and France.
Presentations covered several domains where the use of AI is particularly relevant, such as agriculture, healthcare, governance, energy, and culture. Issues related to the protection of personal data were also discussed.
The audience included a diverse range of participants, with both junior and senior contributors actively engaged.
The workshop also served as a catalyst for new collaborative initiatives. For instance, the Ministry of Public Procurement of Cameroon and Grenoble INP–UGA are currently discussing the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking the beginning of a long-term and intensive collaboration.
